3. Technical Information and Server Logs
When you access the website, the hosting provider, content-delivery network, security systems, or related infrastructure providers may automatically receive or record standard technical information.
This may include:
- your IP address;
- date and time of access;

4. Google Analytics 4
The website uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand general website usage and improve content, navigation, performance, accessibility, and functionality.
Google Analytics is activated only after you choose Accept analytics through the website’s analytics-preference controls.
If you reject analytics, TokyoStreetView does not intentionally load the Google Analytics tag or initiate Google Analytics measurement for your visit.
Google Analytics may process information such as:

TokyoStreetView does not intentionally send your name, email address, or message content to Google Analytics and does not use Google Analytics to intentionally identify individual visitors by name.
Google may process Analytics information on infrastructure outside your country of residence and under Google’s own privacy, security, and retention practices.
5. Analytics and Advertising Settings
TokyoStreetView uses Google Analytics for general audience measurement and website improvement.
TokyoStreetView does not currently use the website for:
- Google Ads remarketing;
- personalized advertising;
- cross-site advertising profiles;
- advertising audience targeting;
- selling visitor profiles.
The website’s Google consent configuration keeps the following advertising-related categories denied:
- advertising storage;
- advertising user data;
- advertising personalization.
If these practices change, this Privacy Policy and the website’s consent controls will be updated as appropriate.
6. Analytics Consent
When you first visit the website, you are asked whether you accept analytics.
The available choices are:
- Accept analytics;
- Reject analytics.
Rejecting analytics does not prevent access to the primary website content.
Your choice is stored in your browser so that the website can remember your preference. You can change your decision later through Cookie Settings in the website footer.
Removing local website data may clear your saved choice and cause the analytics request to appear again.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The website may use cookies, local storage, or similar browser technologies for limited purposes, including:
- remembering your analytics choice;
- remembering your selected visual theme;
- supporting embedded third-party media;
- operating website features.
Google Analytics may set or access analytics-related cookies only after analytics consent has been granted through the website’s controls.
Third-party services such as YouTube and Twitch may use cookies, local storage, identifiers, or similar technologies under their own policies.
You can control or delete cookies and stored website data through your browser settings. Blocking cookies or third-party resources may affect Videos, Twitch content, maps, fonts, or other website features.
8. Local Storage and Theme Preference
The website uses browser local storage to remember:
- your analytics preference;
- your selected light or dark theme.
These preferences are stored locally in your browser. They are not intended to identify you, create a behavioural profile, or track you across unrelated websites.
You can remove them by clearing local website data through your browser.
9. Search and Interactive Features
Search Location, filters, menus, map controls, and similar interface features process information within your browser to display relevant website content.
TokyoStreetView does not intentionally maintain a personal history of individual Search Location queries.
Search terms and interface actions may nevertheless appear temporarily in browser memory or technical logs where required to deliver, troubleshoot, or secure the website.
10. Device Location
The website does not currently request access to your device’s precise geographic location through the browser geolocation interface.
The interactive map displays TokyoStreetView Locations and geographic content. It is not intended to track your physical movements or determine your precise current location.
Infrastructure, analytics, and third-party providers may infer an approximate location from your IP address as part of ordinary network, security, or analytics processing.
11. YouTube Videos and Thumbnails
The website displays TokyoStreetView Videos and thumbnails supplied by YouTube or Google.
Some Videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embedded player.
When a YouTube thumbnail, player, or related resource loads, your browser may connect directly to YouTube or Google. YouTube or Google may process information including:
- your IP address;
- browser and device information;
- requested content;
- date and time of access;
- cookies or similar technologies;
- your Google or YouTube account status;
- Video viewing and interaction information;
- advertising, security, diagnostic, and performance information.
Privacy-enhanced embedding does not mean that no information is transmitted to Google or YouTube.
TokyoStreetView does not control Google’s or YouTube’s systems, account features, advertising, recommendations, retention practices, or independent data processing.
Your use of YouTube content is also governed by Google’s and YouTube’s applicable terms and privacy policies.

The website may display TokyoStreetView content using the Twitch embedded player.
When Twitch content loads, your browser may connect directly to Twitch. Twitch may process information including:

- requested content;
- date and time of access;
- cookies or similar technologies;
- Twitch account status;

TokyoStreetView does not control Twitch’s systems, account features, advertising, recommendations, cookies, retention practices, or independent data processing.
Your use of Twitch content is governed by Twitch’s applicable terms and privacy notices.
13. Interactive Map and Esri Imagery
The interactive map uses MapLibre GL JS and map imagery supplied through Esri World Imagery.
To display the map, your browser may request:
- MapLibre software files;
- map tiles and imagery;
- geographic resources;
- styles and related technical assets.
These requests may transmit standard technical information to Esri, the MapLibre delivery provider, content-delivery networks, or other relevant providers. This may include your IP address, browser and device information, requested resources or tile coordinates, date and time of access, referring page, and network or diagnostic information.
Map interactions such as panning or zooming may generate additional tile and resource requests.
TokyoStreetView does not control the independent privacy, logging, security, or retention practices of Esri, unpkg, network providers, or other third parties involved in delivering map resources.
14. Google Fonts
The website uses fonts delivered through Google Fonts.
When a page loads, your browser may request font files and related resources from Google-operated domains. These requests may transmit standard technical information, including your IP address, browser information, requested font resource, and request timing.
TokyoStreetView does not control Google’s independent infrastructure, logging, security, or retention practices.
15. External Links
The website contains links to external websites, channels, services, and resources.
When you follow an external link, the destination provider may collect or process information under its own privacy policy.
TokyoStreetView is not responsible for external privacy practices, cookies or tracking, account requirements, security practices, advertising, data retention, content, legal compliance, or changes made by external providers.
Review the relevant third-party privacy information before providing personal information to an external service.

18. International Data Processing
Third-party providers may process information in countries outside your place of residence.
Privacy laws, data-protection standards, and government-access rules may differ between countries.
TokyoStreetView does not control every location in which a third-party provider stores, transmits, or processes information.
Use of the website may therefore involve international transmission or processing of technical, analytics, or communication information.
19. Information Retention
TokyoStreetView may retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was received and for legitimate operational, evidential, security, licensing, accounting, dispute-resolution, or legal purposes.
Retention periods may vary by category. For example:

Google Analytics applies its own retention configuration and policies. Some aggregated reporting data may be retained differently from user-level and event-level information.
TokyoStreetView may delete, anonymize, archive, or restrict access to information when it is no longer reasonably required. TokyoStreetView cannot control retention periods independently applied by third-party providers.
20. Legal and Safety Disclosures

21. No Sale of Personal Information
TokyoStreetView does not sell personal information received through direct communications.
TokyoStreetView does not currently operate a business model based on selling personal information or visitor profiles.
This does not prevent the use of service providers, compliance with lawful requests, or transfer of relevant records as part of a legitimate reorganization or transfer of the website or its operations.
22. Security

These may include rights to request:
- confirmation of whether information about you is held;
- access to personal information;
